    Hi there,

Its been an hour that I have been trying to set up google account. I am getting this error at every stage, looks like. Please advise. I am currently stuck at a page after I clicked 'images', it doesn't seem to display anything!

Leave aside the LS command . It won't show like this. Rest all seems good to me.

Go ahead and start creating your image and instance thereafter.

For this session we are only using Google Cloud Free Tier account.

Password cannot be shared as it is not only generic but many configurations prior to the session has been done against that account.

Suggest you to use google account for this session atleast.

Please check your account and credit card credentials. There may be a problem at time after you create account.

If that looks good. then follow below given steps:

    Create bucket on google storage.
gsutil mb <<given your bucket name like this --- gs://devops-testing-08032018 >>

Copy from Simplilearn Image to your Google Storage bucket --->
gsutil cp gs://simplilearn-devops-image/* <<Give your bucket name which you created in above step>>

Then go ahead and create image. Hope it helps.

I was able to connect to GCP VM through Putty. In your public key replace the last word with "student" and add it to SSH keys field in the VM configuration. Make sure that VM is stopped while editing. Add private key to putty and connect using the IP address. It works.

To Start Private Registry, we need to run first registry image as a container by below mentioned command....

    docker run -d -p 5000:5000 --restart=always --name registry registry:2

then we pull another image and tag as a private registry..

So here my question is that what is this registry image that first run as a container on port 5000...is this image only require to start private registry as container in demon thread mode or we can use any image to start private registry....

Let me answer your ques in parts:

    1. On hub.docker.com things are stored in form of an image. Be it linux or windows or any software. Registry is one of them https://hub.docker.com/_/registry/
    2. We are storing under registry something. Which could again be any OS, software etc...
    3. Follow this link to know more: https://docs.docker.com/registry/introduction/
Hope it helps. Let me know if you still have any queries.
