Meanwhile...I have a query from PMBOK....while going through M&C overview, I came across the below line:

"In order to reduce control overhead, management-by-exception procedures and other techniques can be appropriately considered"

    What is management-by-exception procedures?

Consider, this, Nahid - all projects don't need the investment of formal, documented control procedures for every process we discuss. A lot of what we focus on is due to an ongoing benefits-to-cost analysis; where will my efforts best generate results? We are constantly re-prioritizing. Managing-by-exception is an example of this; instead of focusing on everything, we manage the items that we think will cause greatest deviation. An example is focusing on drivers that could cause failure first, and then when or if we have more time, focus on improving success.

There are more specific definitions in the financial and business spectrums, but that is the general concept.

    Thanks Sridhar...
I have submitted the application and now waiting for the review to be completed.
However, the process of application submission is quite different to what you have mentioned on the last day. e.g.: there is no payment made for the exam as of now - I think it will happen after application is accepted.

I think you should review your app submission part and change. It causing some confusion.

    Hi,

Its very self explanatory once you start filling the online application. However there is a methodical way of doing it as mentioned below. The below observations i noticed which were quite different from what i was informed in the training:

    1) No need to provide any signature: whether digital or scanning
    2) First PMI reviews the application; till then there is no payment
    3) You have to only mention the number of hours for each process group: Initiating, Planning, Executing, M&C and Closing. No need to describe what exactly you did in each process group
    4) However, the details of everything should be mentioned in 1-2 lines in the project description.
    5) Follow this video:
There is good excel template that is described. Before you start the online application, prepare this excel sheet which will have all the details
like project details, the organisation details, the contact person and the split of PM experience.

Mukesh Sahu can share the webinar recording which was also very helpful.

I suggest you look at the video first before actually starting the online app.

    Thanks,
    Nahid
