Can you provide the steps to generating the SSL keys and how to tell GIT to use them when interfacing with GitHub? I thought everything we did in class was going to be in the txt file above. Or is what we did in class somewhere else? Thx!

I downloaded the git_notes_complete_ajay.txt from the class forum to review what we covered in class. In many places this file is not clear in what are commands, what is output, and what might be comments.

I understood the concept of GIT before taking this class, but since I am not a developer I did not have hands on experience with it. I followed what we did in class, but expected this file to reiterate what we learnt as if I was doing the class again. This is a hands-on class for concepts that could be difficult. It may be difficult for some of us to watch what you are typing, typing it ourselves, then making sure our results are the same before you move on to the next command. For this reason, the download file should better represent the class and be visually easy to understand which it is not. In fact, this file should be available to us before the class so we could cut\copy the commands to be more efficient.

Sorry for sounding harsh, but I am paying for this and spending my valuable free time to better myself, so I have some expectations. I contemplated posting this, but I went through most of the off-line class material already so I know what is to come and how hands-on it is. The class notes should represent the class better. Especially if one class builds upon another AND if we will be tested with this to complete the course.

I want this to be a success!

I went through the lesson notes again and was able to install Jenkins and created the first Admin user. Jenkins went to the plugins page and installed all the plugins. When I try to log back in it says invalid user whether I try the Admin user I created with it's password, or the admin or administrator with the password retrieved from /var/lib/jenkins/secrets/initialAdminPassword.

Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Hello friends - I am trying to send email from Jenkins but it is failing to do so. See attached screenshot and the error log. Any help is appreciated.
I believe I am following as it mentioned in the lesson 3.4 OR how it was taught in the class.

    Failed to send out e-mail

    Hi Ajay,
I have just enrolled for the Devops training, I have little or no knowledge of Unix. I am from windows background. I noticed that I have missed a lot of your classroom classes, so I am now doing catch up by watching your recorded videos.

I am trying to follow your process, but I ran into problem when I want to save files in Ubuntu. What command should I use. [Esc] :wq seems not to be working for me.

    Example:
    project1$ cat > index.html
How do I save the file?
What command should I run to save this index.html file I have just created and edited?
