If I were to fail the PMP exam the first time, would it be possible to retake the exam there after? What would the cost of reexamination be?

You may attempt the PMP test up to three times within one year of your eligibility period. If you fail the second two attempts, you will be required to wait a full year before applying for eligibility to take the test again.

Being a member of PMI is especially useful for all the free resources they offer. And, you would also pay less for some things such as reexamination. If you fail your first attempt at the PMP, then you would only pay $275 for each additional reexamination. All nonmembers would pay $375. This would be for the computer exam.

While you will be eligible to retake the exam within the prescribed period of time, you should take a little time off before trying again to prepare yourself adequately for the retest.

You should read PMBok oveview, after that you can read Rita and Heat First. You also have strategy to prepare exam, please read some TIPs: Project Management Learning: TIPs.

There are many free and paid resources online to help you prepare and pass the examination. Please make use of them.
