    Hello Everyone,

Passed PMP exam today @ PearsonVUE

Thank you @tim jerome for all the support and guidance thought the journey. I have attended almost 3 different batches of weekday and Weekend Batches. Hope you remember me (Archana here)

You are my “MENTOR” for the next 20 years

    My Study plan:

Attended Tim Jerome, Sachin Goswami, Anoop classes

    Read PMBOK (5 times)

Read Rita Mulchay to understand few concepts (not detailed though)

    Reviewed Tim notes

    Simpli learn 7 mock tests

    Prepcast 8 mock tests

    RMC chapter questions

    Exam Experience:

The real exam was tricky, not difficult.

Questions were 2-3 lines not extraneous.

Was able to shortlist 2 answers and had to pick one which was difficult

Do not waste time in learning Tools and Techniques just know them.

Know the difference between project management plan updates and project document updates.

Got questions from all Knowledge Areas

Had only 20 minutes left for review

We can Flag questions for review. If we don’t flag you can still go back n review the question.

I didn’t know this feature was available and marked all for review for the first 100 questions.

    Pearson Vue Experience:

Pearson Vue experience was great. Staff was great. Gave a Laminated sheet and Marker if you need one more need to return the previous sheet.

    Noise-canceling headset was available

My advice to all the learners, participate in the forum, ask questions. No question is silly. I have learned a lot through the forum and other learners. Thank you, @Arvind Shekhar for clarifying my questions and helping me understand.

Thank you Raghunath Rao sales manager who made me believe in simplilearn community.
Please Direct message me on the forum if you have any questions. I will be happy to help you.

    Happy Learning Everyone!!

    Congratulations Archana.
I am very very happy for you. As I said earlier l believe in you. I can say from my experience with Simplilearn community forum , learner who post their query in forum, members will always try to help them they will always succeed.
Now you are certified , this onus also fall on you being senior learner. Best thing about Simplilearn is that you can attend live classes with different trainers. I also attended classes from 3 different trainers.
I am a short of disciple of Tim he always helps learners in this forum. His zeal to answer query is unmatched.
    Once again congratulations.

    Congratulate you for your success.

I went through your experience and want to know specifically for which portion or knowledge area I will follow Rita Mulchay. Actually I have scheduled my exam in 3rd week of October and already followed & revised the PMBOK & Head first several times. My scores in mock test were arrived between 77%-80% but when I faced Rita Question Bank(Questions at the end of the chapter), my average score stands between 65%-68%. So, need your advise as you also mentioned you did not go through entire Rita Book and read only few concepts.

    Hi Rajdeep,

My weak areas were Resource Management,Stakeholder and Communications chapters.I read these Knowledge areas in Rita as well as PMBOK. For Earned value ,Network diagram and contract questions did Aileen Ellis (Kindle version).I would suggest you to keep doing timed Mock exam and analyze weak areas.Post your questions on Forum to get an understanding.

    All the Best.

    Hi Rajshekar,

I would say 4 months but last 2.5 months at least 8 hours a day.
Once you finish the classes spend at least 2 hours a day.I guess most of the time we need to understand the real question and answer as PMI perspective. PMBOK is a must read.Hope this helps.

    Aswathy,

I failed the first 2 simplilearn mock exams due to time.Later, started doing Projectmanagement.com questions 1-2 hours daily.
Other tests in Simplilearn were around 70-75%.Make sure you understand what was the question and why you were wrong. Understanding the concepts where and why is more important rather the getting the right answers.
    All the Best!!

    Thanks.
Now I am following your advice.

Also want to know that I am giving mock test in Simplilearn & Whizlab. In Simplilearn, my scores were between 76%-80% & in Whizlab, scores were between 74%-76%. My exam date will be 25th October. Shall with this score I proceed for exam or may postpone & schedule in later.I know this is very tough for advice in a open forum but just need a rough idea only.

    Rajdeep,

My advice is to do more mock exams.Have you tried Prepcast exams. They have 120 questions free and 3 full mock exams you can subscribe and cancel if you don't like. Its all about timing in the exam and how well you understand the questions.Hope this helps to decide on your exam date.
