  8. Updated estimate of project lifetime (EAC) - $? Can't figure out the correct formula. Will need some help with this in our session tomorrow.
  9. Updated estimate for cost at completion (ETC) - $31,325,301 [$26M (BAC) / $.83 (CPI)]
Project is only progressing at 66% of the originally planned rate and .83 worth is got out of every dollar spent. May want to look at performance reviews and schedule compression.

Is the data posted is correct? From the table it shows Estimated and Planned is coming as 37 months, However below table shows that baseline schedule timeline is 30 months.

Also table E shows as 50% complete(Actual) and bottom of table says should be completed by now.

If I go by table data, EV=8.125 , Am I missing something? Can someone explain to me how you arrived above calculations?

Hi Praveen, thanks for your question

EV = Budgeted value of the work performed
work performed is: 100% of D (Budgeted at 2 Mill), 100% of A (Budgeted at 3 Mill) , 50% of E ( 10*50%=5 Mill) and 50% of F (6*50%=3 Mill)
EV= 2+3+5+3= 13 Mill

PV = Budgeted value of the work planned
work planned: "According to Baseline Schedule: D A and E should be completed by now" (Budgeted at 2 Mill, 3 Mill and 10 Mill respectively)
so the PV= 2+3+10 = 15 Mill

AC = Actual spent on work Performed
Actual Spent: 1.25+3+4.75+3 = 12 Mill


Project Budget = sum of Budgeted Values of all activities = 2+3+10+6+5 = 26 Mill

The rest is applying the EVM equations for CV, SV, CPI, SPI and EAC.

Hi Praveen,
good question...
This is to trigger our thoughts....the overall project lifetime is NOT equal to the sum of the time required for all activities....
it is based on the network diagram of the project... which may have leads, lags, activities in parallel etc.
