Is it worth taking CAPM or should I wait and gain some experience and learn PMP only? Will it make me a better Project Manager? How much study is required?

Hi Andrea - CAPM is good for you if you aren't eligible for PMP. It is based on the same PMBOK. You will learn and understand different aspects of project management which you can practically apply at your current role/job. It is helping me definitely.

You won't need actual project management experience to sit for the CAPM exam. This would be an important consideration for anyone just out of college. All you need is a high school diploma and 23 hours of project management education (or 1500 work experience hours). That means you could take the CAPM exam for certification while still in college to help you get a head-start on job hunting when you are finished with your degree.
