    Hello,
@tim jerome can you please explain.

Develop team process goes through Team /individual performance assessments. Rewards and Recognition are given as part of the Develop team process.
Pmbok pg 341 says Rewards decisions are made formally or informally during the process of managing the project .
Does this mean decisions are made in Manage team and rewards are given in Develop team.

    Please explain.

    Thanks
    Archana

Rewards and recognition are a technique in Develop the team, and "... Reward decisions are made, formally or informally, during the process of managing the team..." (p. 341).

It looks as if change requests from manage the team are to make changes that would otherwise disrupt the behavior of the team (negative events). The above comment (reward being a part of development) makes more sense when we observe that motivation as well is a technique in develop the team and not manage the team. Your comment supports this logic.

FInally let's observe the EEF updates - for Manage the team, they are for the purpose of input to performance appraisal and documentation of skills (probably improvement gains). In Develop the Team, EEF updates represent input to employee development plan updates and for skill assessments.

It looks as if your observation is supported, and this makes sense if you look at this from the big picture. We continue to manage the team, and use our rewards and recognition to continue to motivate, as well as merely reward for good performance.
